1. Do What You Love

Believe it or not, with careful planning, it is possible to truly love what you do for a living. Not everyone can play professional sports or become an astronaut, but the field of study for your degree should be at least partially based on what you enjoy doing. You first step should be to make a list of your current activities, hobbies, and interests.

2. Practical Applications

Using your list from above, write down what skills you are using when doing these activities. For example, if you enjoy parties, your skills could be meeting new people and coordinating with others. If you love to shop, you are comparing prices and searching for deals.

3. Related Careers

Next, take your list of your useful skills and think of related careers. If your skills are meeting new people and coordinating with others, a nurse or event planner are examples of careers that utilize these skills. Now that you have a list of potential careers, select from the most appropriate category in the left menu to learn more about each type of college degree.
